| Helping Protect Windows XP and 2000 Requiring Ctrl + Alt + Del at login for Windows:
ok. this exploit will require editing the registry, which can really mess stuff up if you don't know what you're doing, but you have to start somewhere or else you'll always be a n00b, so start here and follow the instructions VERY CAREFULLY!!!
1. go to start > run and type in "regedit.exe" and hit enter
2. find the file "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\C urrentVersion\Winlogon"
if there is no such file, make one
3. go to edit > new > DWORD Value and name it "DisableCAD"
4. right click this new value, and press modify. set the value to "0" and hit ok. for reference, "0'' means Ctrl + Alt + Del requirement is on and "1" means it's off, if you decide you want to turn it off.
5. exit the registry, and restart windows for the changes to take place. this can also be done by creating and then running a .reg file containing this:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrentVersion\Winlogon]
"DisableCAD"="0"

| Actually IMO Registry is easier, I really hate gui's(yes i know the registry is a gui but its less prone to change then "Control Panel").
Anyways my point is knowing how to do it this way is: - Quicker
- Can allow a .bat to do it(give to a friend and tell them to open it) to do
- Less prone to change, dont you hate going from XP > Vista everything is different! Well the registry is less different, or atleast i hope

Kudos +100 credits |
