Default How to save any audio that plays through your speakers.

To save any form of audio (noise, not video) that is playing through your computer speakers you just have to do 3 simple steps.

part 1 {if you have 'audacity' skip to part 2}
go get the audio mixing program called "audacity". search for it on google.com or go to audacity.sourceforge.net and download it{if you wish to save the audio as an mp3 and not a wma, then also download the 'LAME mp3 encoder, you will not have to install it, just download it to your desktop}, install Audacity(. or if you prefer not to install it go to portableapps.com (a very useful website for getting programs that run on flashdrives without the need of installation), download it, and extract it.

part 2
Run audacity. look for a drop down menu that will either have microphone or stereo mixer written in it. Next to the option that is selected is an arrow facing down. click the arrow, it will drop down and have 2 options. one is "microphone" and the other is "stereo mixer". make sure stereo mixer is selected. make sure no other audio is playing. Now click the big red button to the left to record audio and then start playing your video. if you did it right then sound should be recording onto your mixing board for the sound file. Once the song or video or whatever else it could be that you are trying to capture is done playing through just go back to audacity and click the record button again. Lastly just go to 'file' at the top left just like any other program and scroll down to save as. IF you want to save it as a .mp3 instead of a .wma then click save as make sure the filetype is .mp3 and it will ask for you to have to 'LAME mp3 encoder'. click browse and select it from your desktop.

part 4 - yar har, you're a pirate

rTorrent > Azureus = Linux/Mac
uTorrent > Azureus = Windows

Here are two guides, if you study them both you should be able to install and configure any version of rTorrent. It is also opensource and very easy to understand/edit, so if you are on a private tracker(makes you upload as much as download, unless you lose membership). You can edit the part of the code where it sends your upload information to the tracker So you could make it like 2x so every gb you upload, the tracker thinks you uploaded 2gb.

How to install rTorrent | Tutorial Ninjas (outdated version)
Upgrade rtorrent to 0.7.4 | Tutorial Ninjas (another installation, even this version of rtorrent is outdated i think)

i just use azureus and utorrent. i prefer to run a virtual machine on my linux box so that way incase something gets to it while testing lots of small programs (like 2-10mb) im safer than runnin straight off the comp. i do like the rtorrent and utorrent configureability you mentioned up there. that is ALWAYS helpful, esp. due to the fact that 99.9999999% of private trackers will delete your account if you have a ratio of less than 1.

No, I don't want rtorrent to get banned on private trackers
