Block individual webpages

In Windows XP (I tested on Vista, works AOK)

1. Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt2. Click Command Prompt This will open a DOS command window.
3. Type: notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
4. Locate the line 127.0.0.1 localhost
5. To block the website google.com for example, just add this text under 127.0.0.1 localhost:

127.0.0.1 google.com
127.0.0.1 www. google.com

You can add as many sites any site, However you will need to prefix it with "127.0.0.1".

6. Save the file
Google will now be blocked in all web browser. This is an advanced but easy method on how to blow a website.

hmmmmm....i wonder if i can use the same thing to break through the school's sonic wall web page blocker... I know translators work, but no images for flash come up :P

you don't have to make seperate lines:
127.0.0.1 google.com yahoo.com
Will block both google and yahoo. You can also ping a website(open cmd and ping google.com) to get the IP. Then you can replace 127.0.0.1 with the ip so you can change where the page goes. so when a friend types facebook it really goes to myspace.

The flash doesn't work because they don't have the plugin for it, and without administrator privileges you can't download and install it. I don't think there's anything you can do.

You can pull AMAZING PRANKS with this...
This is how: first open the command prompt ( start>run>cmd ) type ping and the name of some really annoying/shocking website, some might not work, so you just need to test with your own hosts file first.

Code:

example:

ping 2girls1cup.com

You'll get the IP adress of that site, write it down. Open the hosts file like DisturbedMaggot instructed and add a line with the IP and some shitty site your victim frequents...

example:

66.115.143.14 http://www.neopets.com

In this case 66.115.143.14 is the IP for 2girls1cup.com, your victim will have VERY fun while trying to access neopets

In case someone's interested... what this host file does is associates IP:s with domain names, adding 127.0.0.1 something.com will just turn redirect you from something.com to your own computer, resulting in error... 127.0.0.1 is the IP for localhost aka My computer.
